Carving out spaces

For this project, we turned a riparian zone into a multi-tiered, multi-purpose space for relaxing, gathering, and playing pickup basketball games. The backyard uses a combination of different materials that complement each other including stone, slate, wood, and engineered wood - all softened by delicate but hardy plantings. The resulting spaces will age beautifully in the years to come in this often wet location.
